MiMì: A Unique and Innovative Cookware Set

Revolutionizing the Way We Cook

Italian designer Gian Piero Giovannini introduces MiMì, a cookware set that combines functionality and innovation to enhance the cooking experience.

When it comes to cookware, the standard design often consists of an aluminum pan with a plastic handle. However, Gian Piero Giovannini wondered if it was possible to create a cookware set with different, selected handles. Could these handles be not only different in shape but also innovative in some way? The answer is MiMì.

MiMì is a non-stick cookware set that stands out from the crowd. Its simple design, with clean-cut geometry, not only looks sleek but also offers superior ease of use. The secret lies in the materials and construction. Thick die-cast aluminum is used for better heat conduction and to easily couple the essential body with the handles, eliminating the need for additional joints.

What sets MiMì apart is its steel handles. These handles literally grab the connection brackets, forming a seamless shape with the body. They are then fixed in place by two grub screws or specific glue. The steel material, known for its heat resistance, takes advantage of its elastic feature to provide a comfortable grip. The handles have a small section, allowing them to easily change shape when pressed, adapting to the user's hand and strength.

With their yellow silicone rubber covering, the handles stand out against the matte grey body. However, if preferred, they can also be brush finished for a more subtle look. The pan handle, the longest one, is bound by a rubber-covered steel tensed wire, adding a touch of uniqueness to the design. This wire allows the handle to modify its shape when pressed, providing new sensations to the user.

Functionality is not the only focus of MiMì. The cookware set also boasts a reinforced coating applied in three layers, guaranteeing lasting non-stick quality and durability. It is scratch and abrasion-proof, resisting the effects of metal utensils and abrasive pads. The ground non-slip thick bottom ensures even heat distribution, making cooking a breeze.

By using less material, MiMì proves that it can do more and even better. The minimal design contributes to improved ergonomics, making it easier to handle the cookware. The handles, with their simple yet knotty shape, provide a firm grip, even when wet or greasy. The interaction between the user and the cookware is taken to a new level, as the handles can adapt to different grabs, thanks to the steel's flexibility.

Overcoming the challenge of connecting steel and aluminum without specific joints or hardware, Gian Piero Giovannini has created a simple and essential object that enhances the cooking experience. MiMì's unique design has been recognized with the Bronze A' Design Award in 2013, showcasing its outstanding creativity and resourcefulness. This cookware set embodies the best practices in art, science, design, and technology, contributing to improvements in quality of life.

Experience the revolution in cookware with MiMì. Let its innovative design and functionality transform the way you cook.
